Queen Amelia Winter

Believed infertile since the beginning of her reign, the Winter Queen -yearning for children and an eventual heir to her court- set out to find a man who could give her just this. After thousands of years of searching, she began to believe it to be entirely impossible. Misery overcame her and she fell into a deep depression. In her despair, she locked herself in her castle and cursed the mortal realms with long, harsh winters. Slowly, she became irritable, her mood switching between anger and sadness constantly and unpredictably. During this time the winter court thrived, using their ruler's lack of control to do what ever they pleased. She let them. This continued for several centuries, until a man showed up at her doorstep. The man told her that he was lost in the winter court and asked if he might come in and rest for a time. At first, Queen Amelia was furious that he did not know who she was and of what he was asking. He begged her and told her that he was desperate. Having come from a much warmer climate, he could hardly tolerate the cold. In exchange for shelter, he promised the Queen he would give her what ever she wanted. His Name was Haze Cinders. The Queen did not believe he could give her what she wanted, but let him in anyways.  One last try couldn't hurt. It was nine month later when she gave birth to her first child. A boy named Frost Cinders. A year later, she had a set of twin girls by the same man, to be named Amy and Snow Cinders. After that, Haze left, and for a time Queen Amelia was happy, the winters became less harsh, and spring began to come sooner. Seven years later, Haze returned to see his children. This time she let him in with open arm. Frost and Amy were both outspoken and enjoyed causing trouble and hurting others. All of them were spoiled; though Snow was lower maintenance then the other two.  Haze was proud of his children, as he was not at all human himself and followed a dark path. He stayed with Queen Amelia for a while and the had another child. His name was Draco Cinders. The Queen was thrilled and promised the baby that he would have everything in the world, same as her other children. However, this was not meant to be. In the middle of the night, one of the old nurses who took care of him stole him from his crib and left the Winter Court to give him a better life; one where he would not turn into a monster like his brother and sister. When the Queen found out, she was at first furious, blaming the other courts of Faerie. When none of them had her child, she turned to blame the servants and nurses. She fired all of them not caring who actually did it. The nurse who had done it was only affirmed in her choice when Frost and Amy ran around rubbing it in the faces and laughing at those who had cared for them their whole life. Only Snow seemed hurt by it. At this point Haze left again, promising the Queen he would help to find him, but that he would be more effective from his realm. Once again, the Queen fell into a dark depression. Her Children did the best they could to cheer her up, but it was often futile. She would not be happy again until the child was found.
